it's coming to the end of the easter holiday. I have been asking myself this question every single year. what is the true meaning of easter? a lot of ppl will say the meaning of easter is jesus christ's victory over death. his resurrection symbolises the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in him. the meaning of easter also symbolises the complete verification of all that Jesus preached & taught during his 3 yrs ministry. If he hadn't risen from the dead, if he had merely died & not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher. However, his resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that he's really the son of go and that he had conquered death once and for all.

However, Easter did not always symbolize jesus christ's resurrection from the dead and the meaning of easter was quite different than what Christians celebrate today. The feast day of Easter was originally a pagan celebration of renewal and rebirth. Celebrated in the early spring, it honoured the pagan Saxon goddess Eastre. When the early missionaries converted the Saxons to Christianity, the holiday, since it fell around the same time as the traditional memorial of Christ's resurrection from the dead, was merged with the pagan celebration, and became know as easter. The meaning of easter was also changed to reflect its new Christian orientation.

Today, the meaning of easter, for million of Christians, is that of honouring and recognising jesus christ's resurrection from the dead, and his glorious promises of eternal life for all who believe in him.

update:
didnt go bk to hong kong for easter as my medicine exam is on easter monday... so my easter holiday has been bombarded with tonnes of textbooks, notes and BONES!!! battling against stuff like ciprofloxacin, gentamycin, gemfibrozil, suxemethonism, hemicholinium and co...

so to conclude, medicine exams took my life away!

easter break has finally started!!! but mid term semester exam is on easter monday, that is to say, i cant really enjoy my easter break.... ONCE AGAIN!!!

Gd luck to all those taking HKCE, HK A-Level, GCSE, GCE AS & A2 in the summer!!

有些人對勝敗看得很重要，有些人則視名利如糞土。人的一生，難免亦會遇上挑戰，成功固然是好，但我卻認為失敗所得到的經驗也是一生受用的。一個人若未受過挫敗，就很可能連小小的風浪也捱不了。我就認為人的一生不應該但求榮華富貴，只要能轟轟烈烈的活過，甚至可以千古留名，成又如何？敗又如何？曾為自己的目標奮鬥過，敗又如何？只要一生憾。
其實，「目標」就是實是相等於「人生意義」。若你想知道你的「人生」有何「意義」，請你先問問你自己有何「目標」。有著「目標」，你才有堅強、奮鬥、生存下去的意志，要不然不是死了便一了百了嗎？當你在追尋著你的「目標」時，你才可領略到你人生的真正「意義」。

現實是殘酷的, 但是還須面對。
要將失敗的經驗化為正面動力才會成功。
機會也只會隨着年歲而減少。
珍惜眼前所擁有的人、事物和機會！

time for an update!!!
university life has started!!!!! having a great time... ppl r really nice and friendly!!! however, the amount of work is killing me already... (2 hrs of dissection, 3 hrs of lectures, 2 hrs of histology, 1 hr of data analysis and report writing and 2 hrs of self reading all on the same day!!!!!)
joined the football, volleyball and badminton club.... in the 3rd XI for the university mens' football team and 1st VI for the university mens' volleyball team.. i think i m goin' to give up university football soon because my training schedule clashes with my medicine timetable... i will carry on playing for the medics' 1st XI though...
i have also joined the medical society and the condom society.... yup... the CONDOM SOCIETY... I will be the official condom distributor for my hall starting from next semester (umm... interesting job)
